How fast is your internet connection? Let’s find out!

Let’s check that the speed you pay for is provided by your internet service provider.

Take a few minutes to resolve the next time your internet connection has a hard time loading the page, it is always delayed or slowed down while you are working or watching your favorite series. Checking your internet connection speed is a smart place to start.

The speed of your internet connection varies depending on the time of day, the number of connected and used devices, and other factors. To determine the actual speed of your connection, I recommend doing speed tests within a day or two and keeping a note of results.

The solution can be as simple as restarting your modem and router (which should always be your first step) or, as a last resort, upgrading to a network of matches.

Perform speed tests on your computer, phone, or tablet

Many apps and websites will check your connection speed. Speedtest.net, Fast.com, and Cloudflare are some of the most prominent speed test services.

Perform a speed test on your wireless router

Depending on your wireless router, you may be able to check your speed using a specific application. Google’s Nest Wi-Fi, for example, lets you do a speed check on an app or ask Google Assistant how fast your internet connection is.

The same feature is available on Eero, Linksys Velop, and Asus ZenWifi routers, though not all support asking for a smart speaker to perform the test. It is best to start with a special app.

Because the router is quickly connected to your modem, applying a speed test to your wireless router may seem more accurate, at least legally.

If the test results are lower than you expected or paid for, you do not need to buy a new router immediately. Route technology, like all other technologies, is constantly evolving, which can cause performance concerns. If you purchased your router a few years ago, it probably works well and the problem is caused by something else.

What can you do if your speed is slower than what you are paying for?

Turning off your modem and wireless network, leaving it on for about 30 seconds, then turning it on again is my first recommendation. For me, this often solves any speed problems. We have a few other suggestions to help you back up your network and make it work.

You can also check off your provider’s application or website. When my Comcast connection is active, the first thing I do is launch the Xfinity account app and check for any service concerns. If available, the system will give you an estimate of how long it will take to restore it. You can skip any problem solving if you know the problem is not your fault.

We hope this article has helped you to determine and improve your internet and router. We don’t want buffers and lags while watching new episodes of Euphoria right? Enjoy, peace out!
